ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur, Maharashra, India; Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions, Bangkok, Thailand and Korean Society for Citrus and Subtropical Climate Fruits, Jeju City, South Korea joined their hands with Indian Society of Citriculture for organizing the Asian Citrus Congress – 2023.
The ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute (Formerly known as National Research Centre for Citrus) was established on 29th July, 1985. It is a premier research institute in India actively involved in basic, strategic and applied research on crop improvement, sustaining productivity, crop protection and utilization of citrus. The institute is also a repository for genetic resources and scientific information on citrus. In addition, ICAR-CCRI also acts as nodal centre for training, quarantine, certification and supply of disease-free planting material of citrus across the country.
The APAARI was founded in 1990 by the initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Governments of 13 countries. APAARI is a membership-based, apolitical, multi-stakeholder, and intergovernmental regional organization that aims to catalyze collective action to improve agri-food systems in the Asia-Pacific region. It brings together regional, national and global stakeholders to bridge gaps and strengthen agri-food research and innovation systems towards more sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Korean Society for Citrus and Subtropical Climate Fruits, Jeju City, South Korea is a leading professional society that has played a significant role in the development and promotion of citrus and other subtropical fruits in Korea. The society aims to foster collaboration between members, promote improved technology and scientific know-how in the field, and disseminate knowledge and information related to citrus and subtropical fruits.
